kens96
Appears that after I wash the 96 Eldo I will get codes. Clear them a few times and they finally stop showing up. Here are some of what I have seen show up the very next day after I wash the car. P0420 Once during driving immediately as a History Code - Cleared it and it never came back PC1406 Twice during driving immediately as a History Code- need to see if it stays cleared. Once had a transmision code"not shifting soon enough", again History Code hasn't come back I'm guessing I might be getting something wet when I wash the inner wheel wells and armor-all them. Any tips on where to look? Thanks Ken
Cadillac Jim
The PCM is just beyond the left front inner fender liner. The main distribution block, a Masifuse block, and a relay center are right behind it under a cover. Make sure that it is clean and the fender liner is sealed. Apparently you are getting some water or Armor-All on the connectors. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. kens96
Thanks Jim, I will check this weekend. Drove home today ...no codes. To clean up the terminals and to check the PCM connections, do I disconnect the battery, both terminals, before disconnecting things? Is there a process for de-energizing the PCM or is this a non issue?
