bob393
About a year ago the battery started going dead if the car sat for over 3 or 4 days. Not a crisis if I used the car every day but then the service speed sensitive suspension light came on, Now the check anti lock breaks light just came on and the trunk closing motor has stopped working. Wow what's next? I don't know if these are related but I think they might be. It's worth mentioning that the car runs, starts, and drives perfectly. Go figure. Any help would be appreciated. Ranger
Low voltage will wreak havoc with these electrical systems. Solve that problem first.

A speed sensor could set both suspension and ABS related codes. Trunk motor is a common problem and has nothing to do with battery. BTW, is it a regular Deville? If so, it should be 4.9 L not Northstar. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
bob393
There doesn't seem to be a low voltage condition. The battery is new and when I check the charging voltage when it's running I'm at around 14 volts. The battery discharges from some car related load. I had the non-running milliamp load but forgot it right now. I didn't think it was that high but it does drain the battery after about a week when it's fully charged. I that to ask a dumb question but where is the speed sensor? And if the speed sensor was bad wouldn't that screw up the fuel computer also? I'll pop the hood and check the engine I could swore it was a Northstar.
bob393
Nope your right, It's a 4.9L not the Northstar, Thanks
PAUL T
Make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. Also check the grounds, starting at the battery.

bob393
No the car is dead stock. Does anyone know where the speed sensor that adallak is talking about? Is it on the tranny? The car does have some odd quirks like; The pass rear window doesn't work on occasion and the pass rear power door lock switch doesn't work. Ranger
Does anyone know where the speed sensor that adallak is talking about? Is it on the tranny? I think he is talking about the wheel speed sensors. There is one in each wheel hub.
