Coolant level full for months...yet wet near pump

Hello again everyone! About 2 months ago.....I was down a little coolant....so I added some.....filled it up to where it was suppose to be.....and a few weeks ago I saw a bit near my oil pan.....then I was told it was comming from the pump......

Today....someone else told me the same thing....strange thing is....after running the car for 30 min....I checked the level and it was right to the top! Nice and full......

Is it possible that I added to much and this is just a way it exits? He told me its wet down near the pump....yet its totally full.

Thanx

Nick

The pump can leak from two places the shaft seal and the pump body seal. Also, the crossover seals can leak and appear to be a water pump leak on first inspection, when it's not.

If you are loosing coolant you are leaking it someplace, it could only be leaking when its really hot under higher pressure. I would just keep and eye on it and get under it once in a while with a flashlight and look at the back of the water pump from below.

If you overfill it, the excess will be regurgitated via the overflow. Full is about 2" from the top down to 1/2 tank.
