burekv
When driving my 1997 STS at night, my headlights and dashboard lights will go off when i am at a well lite intersection. I have tried adjusting with the light control knob with no luck. If i put a towell over the light sensor on the dash, this problem does not occur. Can anyone let me know if there is an easy solution to this problem. thanks
BodybyFisher
The sensors drift, you are lucky yours is so sensitive, my headlights were on during the day and unless I shined a flashlight into the sensor they would not go out.. I got 5 from the junk yard, and they all measured a different resistance in similar lighting. You might get a new sensor, its under the dash grill and comes right out Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
Ranger
I'm with BBF. I'd R & R the sensor. Sounds like that is your problem.
