No *smurf*! Man...I thought it was broke! So staying at 100% is 100% normal then??

Yes, unless you are towing, or you are in high incline areas like colorado or you drive from phoenix from sedona in summer heat with the AC on (5 mile elevation climb), the tranny fluid will be good for 100K miles. Like Ranger said, start overheating the tranny and you will see that 100% drop fast

I have had a similar problem with a fuel filter life display on a GM pickup. It displayed 100% for several thousand miles. When I questioned this, the service tech said that I should reset the counter and see what happens. I did, and it started counting down fairly soon after that.

Admittedly, fuel filter life and transmission fluid life are different animals. But to check, I would suggest that you reset your transmission fluid life monitor and see it it starts counting down. This may be especially true since you have recently replaced the computer.

If the counter truly won't count until you overheat the fluid, then resetting the counter will have no effect. ^_^

If in fact that the fluid is designed to last 100,000 miles, it should start counting down 1% per thousand, all else being equal.

My 1994 SLS transmission fluid life display starts counting down after about 1000 miles. (I don't tow anything either.)

Take Care,

Britt

The owner's manualn for my 1997 says that the transmission fluid never needs changing unless you use the car for towing, or have exceptionally difficult operating conditions such as daily east-west driving in San Franciso or some such.

The guru once said, that it will stay at 100% unless you over heat it.. I recently posted somewhere that if the tranny fluid is 290 degrees for 30 seconds it sets a code.
