Cadillac STS
I don’t want to jinx myself but all of my close friends have already been pulled over for stupid things (we’ve all had our license for a little over 7 months now) and I'm the only one who hasn't.... not saying i do anything illegal its just that it happens to everyone and im just waiting for my number to be called...so spill it, whats your most memorable experience with the law enforcement... bad or good
Romey-Rome
Once for loud music & speeding, cop was cool, no ticket. Once for running a red (yellow) light $170 ticket. I hate those friign 2 second lights....
Marika
Not yet, but I've noticed that the cops don't seem to go after large, sedan-type vehicles like Cadillac, Marquis or Crown Vic. Their favorites seem to be Honda, Toys and SUVs. I guess the cops are just trying to get the less safe cars to slow down or behave. If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.
Flyer
After almost 4 years in 4 door Sevilles, I have only been pulled over twice. Once for what the officer stated as "got on it kinda hard on that interstate merge ramp", (this was around 2:00am) and another for having no tag, as I just bought the car. No tickets as a result though. I don't get a lot of attention from the law in my 4 door, or from the ricers that I want to smoke. I did pull up beside a froggy ricer, and I was feeling arrogant, but when I told him that I would eat him alive, he agreed, and said that his accord with the big wing and fire graphics wasn't that fast, so I felt like a jackass, and went on my way. --Flyer '99 'Vert 'Vette 45k '97 SLS 55k Deceased: <'68 Mustang 200+k>, <'86 GMC S-10 180+k>, <'86 VW GTI 180+k>, <'86 Seville 195+k>, <'93 Seville 175+k>

I love pulling next to a BMW 3/5 series (like I did this weekend !) with an impatient clutch-jockey behind the wheel and GF in the passenger seat and just leaving him in the dust. Then on the next light he tried again, in anger, spun a little but I still pulled ahead. I guess he learned

Several tickets, points mostly for speeding - I walk very fast so how can I dive slowly? Nevertheless everytime I speed up I make sure it is safe at least foe other drivers on the road. As for the cops I should say they are quite nice in this country they just do their job and do well. Numba1ironhead!
truckin across country i run into bears very very often. but my biggest scare was when i was in my rig runnin about 90 on interstate 8 commin' out of LA . it was about 10 of us at night with the hammer down i has the #2 door with the bird dog on the dash . we too had a ricer in a souped up mitsubishi gettin impatient wanted the front door so we let him have it. the front door had a scanner and heard a report of a road block ahead right past the truck stop and a description of all the speeders in the parade.( in the new millenium we call it a parade instead of a convoy) there was a bear in the air ahead and he parked it on the interstate behind the behind the 5 cruisers that had the road blocked. As we got closer we were gettin contact on our bird dogs sooo off the exit to the truckstop we go. no sooner as we got off we heard that the ricer ran in a ditch when he ran into the road block . All this as we sat patiently in the truckstop listenin' on the c.b. 2 full grown smokeys were in the truckstop cruisin' lookin for us but we were scattered out in the truckstop untill J.B. hunt took his sweet time tryin to back in a parking spot and held up the bears enough for us to pull out and get rollin' again and doin the speed limit goin 55 in cali that is the speed limit for big rigs. well needless to say once we hit the arizona line we were back at it at a high rate of feul consumtion. well any way be good ladies and gentlemen. woop woop truckin up

Dynomite98
Twice now. First time was back in january, when i was still 17. I was Going 60 in a 40. I knew there was no way i could get out that one. Now for the second one it was when i was just cruising over to the girlfriend's house and i had just put on my billet grill that day. This one was for goin 43 in supposively a 30, but if any of you live in the dallas,tx area and have been on Spring Valley Rd in Richardson when its 3 lanes on each side. you know its not 30mph!! The thing that pissed me off the most was the car next to me was goin faster than i was. I tried to get out of it but that cop wouldn't budge. He problably gave me it cuz im 18 and driving alot nicer car than he is. All i have to say is what an @$$hole cop. But my girlfriend felt bad since i got it on the way to her house and she wanted to make it up to me. so that nite ended better than it started. danbuc
I have an STS and frequently do 120+ mph on the highway at around 1:30 in the morning on my way home from my friends house on the weekend. For this reason I went out and bought the best radar detector I could find. The Escort Solo S2 which costs me around $350. It was well worth it though. The only ticket I have recieved so far since I've had my license was the speeding ticket I got doing 95 in a 55 mph zone in my 1966 Mustang. That was fun but it cost me about $150 and two points which really sucked. Other than that, my philosophy towards speeding is do it only if it a deserted road, its really late outside, or if your absolutely sure you won't get caught. Speeding at that time of the morning will almost guarantee you a ticket in Michigan - that's when all of the cops are looking for DUI victims.... A radar detector will be no use (other than to give you advance warning that are going to receive a ticket) if you're the only car on the road. You should have spent an extra $49 for the Valentine-One radar detector. CaddyChris
Anybody have any experience with those "radar jammers" They guarentee that they will pay your ticket (only 10mph over). Anyone use them? Anyways, ever since I got my sts I have been pulled over numerous times. The first day I had it, a cop saw me light them up at a light next to my friend and tried to say I was wreckless driving. Got out of that one. I got pulled over on the expressway.... a cop was exiting, saw me blow by and got back on the highway, I slowed down right away cause I saw him. He pulled me over to check me out. I was clean. I got nailed at 77 in a 55 on I76 in philly on New Year's morning, I told the woman state trooper my Dad would kill me and ins. and blah blah. She said to remind her at court. Brought it down to less than 5 over, no points. Overall, I need to slow down. But those radar jammers? anyone? Chris
Although radar detectors are illegal here, a lot of the cops are getting laser 'radar' so it wouldn't do alotta good. I've gotten a ticket for going 64km/h in a 50km/h zone. (39mph in 31mph). He bumped it down to 60 so only $40 ticket no points. But it was on a 4-lane road at the bottom of a steep hill. Also there was a red coming up so I couldn't have 'blasted' all the way through town even if I had wanted to. The next day one of my friends was pulled over & ticketed in the exact same spot. She was doing 61 in the 50. Owen Sound police suck! Local police won't look twice unless you are doing over 80 in a 50. Thats my only ticket in the STS since I got it ~2 years ago. -Chris
Ed Hall
I've been driving for almost 11 years and have never received a ticket other than a parking ticket. My insurance was down to $190 for every 6 months in Washington state but has gone up to $320 since moving to Southern California. I generally don't drive faster than 10 over especially in town. I'm also one of those persons that slams the brakes whenever I see a cop using a radar.

STYES
I assume you are a young man/woman here. I remeber when I was young, and I wondered why I would get stopped, for no reason. 5 "kids" in a Chevy Nova! You could put 5 seniors in an SLS, and people would notice. Folks rarely pack the car full these days, but in the case of 5 "kids" I offer this. The chances of 5 kids goofing off in a car are far greater than any other demographic known to man. Does your Seville have aftermarket wheels, tinted windows, or other body mods that make the car "less of a Caddy", and more "hip" per se? I am a fairly big man, with very long hair. I still get harassed by the cops, for no reason, but not in the STS. Is your car stock, in appearance? Do you sit in it, like a gang banger? Chances are if your car is stock, you get the benefit of the doubt, in a Caddy. My most curious times with the police involve situations where I somehow avoided what I deserved; Getting busted! For me to share this with you is not conducive to what I would like to teach a young motorist. We have all made mistakes, and you will to. But I do not want to egg you on by making you think that "I can do that too". I got lucky, but most do not. Did you read the post about the guy who lost his license for two years? You never realize the freedom a license to drive is, until you lose it! If you have to race, go to the track. There are plenty of them out there. If you just need a few seconds, like many of us, use the entrance ramp of the freeway if you have to. You can't enjoy your ride if you wreck it, or if the law takes that privledge away! When I was younger, my insurance premium was twice what my car note was, and I always owned nice cars! It's better to own a nice car, and drive normal, than take a bus to school because you can't drive that car after the dumb things you did.
CaddyDaddy
You got that right bud. After I got in trouble and had my license yanked away from me I now relize how important and how nice they are to have. There was a few times I had to drive to work after I was busted driving on suspended and I drove like a grandma and saw a bunch of cops. This time I wasn't sitting like a gang banger (LOL) and they didn't suspect me of anything. But when I did get could I had a body attachment for not paying a fine on time. The cops new who I was and popped me. No license really blows.
