Caddynut
This weekend, I decided to put my '01 STS in the garage and cover it for the winter and drive '92 through the winter and let the salt take its toll on that car since I can't seem to sell it. I guess I would rather keep my '01 as nice and long as possible. My '92 is getting a couple of rust spots on it and has got 156,000 on it. Nobody wants to buy it, but it is too good a car to send that metal graveyard...might as well drive it. Any recommendations on storing my '01 other than some good old stabil in the fuel and removing the battery ???? BodybyFisher
Change the oil and filter, get it up to operating temp, park it and leave it for the winter. Do not warm it up over the winter, by doing so you run the risk of introducing moisture into the oil. How old is the coolant?, check it with a hydrometer to make sure its 50/50, and to make sure the engine is protected down to where you anticipate the temp will drop to. If you have jack stands, you can take the weight off the tires and suspension with them.
