Replacing the rear leveling compressor

Just got my sturts replaced, as I said before the ride is ok, still feel alot of bumbs etc. but overall she handles much better going into bends/corners. Anyway for what ever reason I was under the impression that the aftermarket struts did not hook up to the rear leveling compressor. Wrong! The compressor has had issues for the past few months (S038) and needs to be replaced (I pulled it last night and it appears as though one of the hoses blew off and the reasulting exposure to the elements caused the interior compoenents to rust). Called around to get prices and i'll be dammed if im going to spend $450 (GM parts direct) or $685 (from the dealer!! <_< ) for a new one...So off to the junk yard we go....

Couple of quick questions though: Does anyone know what model years use the same compressor? I came across a few posts that indicated some Oldmobiles (Aurora's) use the same model, however I am at a loss as to a finding a p/n to cross referance...Anyone know what the p/n is for a 95' leveling compressor (or where to find part numbers in general???)

Thanks :)

Larry, just checked the acdelco site and they don't even list a rear leveling compressor? (Neither does rock auto for that matter). Im wondering if delphi is the OEM? Just re-checked Gmpartsdirect and they noted the 93'-02' model years used the same compressor....Good news :)

Wiz, thanks for the heads up on the Arnott compressor, but I need it ASAP (like tomorrow) so for the time being im going to go the local (salvage yard) route. If that doesn't pan out i'll likely give Arnott a call.
