Yes make sure the cable connections are clean and tight. A bad connection can cause all sorts of problems, are you getting any other codes besides the mis fire P0300 code? What do you mean when you say the end is worn a little? Also, make sure that when you tighten the battery cable that it does not bottom out before it tightens the connection, especially look for than on the positive cable. If your battery connections are not good, you may not be putting out enough current to supply the coils.. Also have the battery load tested. Did you use the OEM ignition wires? Did you use the dilectic grease on them? If you used the grease, you might have caused a problem, the OEM wires are impregated with a grease, using additional grease can cause carbon tracking. Since you changed your plugs 5000 miles ago that is a possiblity. Report back answers to my questions, thanks no. no other codes are coming up. the cable end is just a little coroded (eaten away). i dont have the car in my posesion rite now, but from memory, the cable that has 2 connections and is located towards the front of the car is the one that is coroded. i think its the red one, but im not sure. i cleaned them a while back, so they are clean, just coroded. thanks fish. the shop did the wires, im not sure of the specs, but they are ACDELCO brand from the dealership. Well look the positive cables over carefully, creeping corrosion will raise the resistence in the wire and potentially cause problems. If you have corrosion in the wires, it tends to corrode the area quickly. Here is a link to a forum that discusses creeping corrosion, not saying that this is what you have, but its a thought >> http://www.boatered.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=79429 Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
