My check oil level light on my 2000 Deville DTS came on the other day. So I checked it and noticed it was considerably low. I added about 3 quarts so I believe the light came on too late. Well I went and got my oil changed today and the check oil light will not go out! The oil level is perfect! What could it be? Is there a way I can reset it? Also I checked my codes today. Last week I had one code only which was IPM B0429. I was told not to worry about it because its common. Well I checked today and I had a lot of codes now. Here is the list. IRC V1016 history, MSM B1850 current, MSM 1860 history, PCM p1122 history, and PCM P1599 history. I also swear I felt my transmission slip today. I getting really nervous evertthing is going to start breaking on me all at once! I need help and or advice!

Pull the oil level sensor connector and spray it with Brakleen. It may just be oily. If cleaning it does not help, replace it.

My car is in the shop today for the B0429 code. It's under warranty so why not. They gave me a loaner (CTS). Not my cup of tea.

B1850 - Driver Lumbar Horiz Sensor Circuit Malfunction is the only current DTC.

B1860 - Driver Lumbar Vert Sensor Circuit Malfunction

P1122 - Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit Intermittent Low Voltage

P1599 - Engine Stall or Near Stall Detected

Nothing critical. Clear 'em and see what returns. I know B0429 will.

The oil LIGHT isn't an oil level light (if it's the oil light on the dashboard). The oil LIGHT is an oil pressure light, indicating low oil pressure. If the engine is low on oil (level), it'll read that out to you in the Driver Information Center (DIC). Which did you see on the dash?
