Bruce Nunnally
Japolnik has the scoop on the CTS Sport at the SEMA Show, which will be shown officially later today: Japolnik SEMA CTS or maybe autoblog had it first? AutoBlog SEMA CTS Either way, what both appear to be discussing is Press Release photos/text, and not actual car text. GM has still not released the press info yet, and the car is still under wraps. Parts I like: Mesh Sport Grill Heat extractor hood with mesh inserts (neutral on the look, but interesting addition) Corsa cat-back exhaust with integrated square exhaust tips and a mesh insert between the tips. Corsa is good about making stuff, so hopefully we will see this system available. Bluetooth integration Parts that I would pass on: 20" wheels Missing fog lights? may just be the angle of the photos Roof mounted onstar antenna (isn't it on the roof on the CTS now?) I know this was planned to be what it is -- dress up items to show how one might customize a CTS. Cadillac –Factory customized CTS Sport and Escalade Sport concepts show how sporty these new models can look with a few, carefully crafted styling and stance enhancements. The press release mentions Recaro sport seats; I guess those won't actually go into production, but that would be a nice add if they did. Texas Jim
Really like the looks of that one. I do like the hood, especially the raised front portion and the inserts.
Bruce Nunnally
As the new 2008 Cadillac CTS sedan garners critical acclaim, the CTS Sport concept puts a unique twist on this hot new luxury sedan. The CTS Sport concept suggests a customization theme emphasizing the car’s performance character. The show car includes new front and rear fascias, a modified hood, rear spoiler and 20-inch wheels Recaro sport seats highlight the cabin. Performance is derived from a production-spec 304-hp 3.6L Direct Injection V-6 that exhales through a Corsa cat-back exhaust system with 3.5-inch outlets. Vehicle highlights: * CTS Sport concept * 3.6L V-6 with direct injection * Modified hood with wire mesh inserts * Unique front and rear fascias with carbon fiber and wire mesh inserts * Carbon-fiber front fender extractors * Export-model taillamps and CHMSL with clear lenses * Unique rear deck spoiler * Headlamps with unique housing finish * Roof-mounted OnStar antenna * Brake ducting with LED lighting * Polished, forged 20-inch wheels * High-performance brakes with painted calipers and drilled/slotted rotors * Carbon-fiber interior trim plates * BlueConnect Bluetooth integrated into the headliner * Recaro sport seats with leather trim * Corsa cat-back exhaust with rectangular outlet tips and wire mesh inserts I think the exhaust looks great; I always liked the 'square' exhausts on the early STS. Check the large photo: http://drupal.caddyinfo.com/files/images/X07SV_CA003.jpg it looks like even the exhaust tips continue the mesh look across the exhaust itself. One would think Corsa would be claiming a new HP level with the custom exhaust.
