quadsourcemark
Hello it's me again..... Ok I was able to clear all the history / current codes using the OBD. Thanks to RANGER for the tips. I drove the car briefly after clearing the codes. Below are the codes that have returned. I already tried checking and cleaning the wheel sensor connector with no success. I'm not sure what to do regarding the other two. I can get the right front hub assy for $150.00 (autozone). I don't want to start buying expensive items until I'm sure that’s what’s wrong. C1226 Right Front Excessive Wheel Speed Variation needs to be replaced. Not sure about others. Anyone have any ideas on how to proceed? Cadillac Jim
You really need a FSM to do your own work on the complex systems for any of the later model cars. You can get a new one from Helm, Inc. or you can look for a used one on eBay. From my 1997 FSM: DTC C1226, RF Excessive Wheel Speed Variation, pages 5E2-66 through 5E2-68, are concerned with the RF wheel speed sensor and its connections to the EBTCM. The wires are the DK GRN and TAN wires. The sensor resistance should be between 850 Ohms and 1350 Ohms. Make sure that the connector to the wheel sensor is tight, clean, and well-sealed. Then check the wires to the EBTCM and the EBTCM connector. If you find something, fix it, clear the codes, drive the car, and see if any codes come back. DTC P1571, Traction Control PWM CKT No Frequency, pages 6-571 and 6-572, and DTC C1277, Requested Torque Signal Circuit Malfunction, pages 5E2-150 through 5E2-152, are both tests of signals between the PCM and the EBTCM. The wires are the TAN/BLK and ORN/BLK wires. Look for a bad connection on the EBTCM and PCM or damage to the wiring harness between them if the wheel speed sensor circuit tests OK. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars.
