trevor Posted September 19, 2007 Report Share Posted September 19, 2007 do any of you guys remember these cars?Ive just sold mine in favor of a 2000sts i bought a month back Doing a final tune on it to make sure everything is right (not sold till all the monies in your hand) $13000 for it here in australia hows that? problem is this Ive set the base timing to 10,the throttle position sensor to -.2 and I.a.c. to 13 6 but car is running on when driving and slowing down.Iidled it in the driveway in park for 10 minutes as fsm seems to say but it makes no difference. Should this be done in diagonistics? It idles fine at 650 revs but just doesnt go back there quick enough on the road appreciate any help ausboy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If a switch to higher octane gas solves the problem immediately, then that's the most likely reason. If you're already running 93 octane or it doesn't solve the problem, there is a checklist: What are the OBD II codes, if any? Is the throttle valve sticking open at idle, or when the engine is off? Are you using the OEM spark plugs, including heat range? Is your FPR leaking? trevor Posted September 20, 2007 Author Report Share Posted September 20, 2007 thanks jim for your help .I did clean the carbon deposits off which is how this all started .I have no codes set but i will check out those other things ausboy. p.s. its a long way from a cadillac dealer here !
