50thcad
I have a 1999 50th anniversary edition deville with some wiper problems. When in low speed the wipers work fine. When put in high speed the wipers start to work but not at a high speed, then they start to slow down and eventually stop some where in the middle. I can still hear the motor attempting to turn and if I put the switch back to low speed the wiper immediately start working. The fact that the wipers work perfectly on low but not on high has me stumped because I would like to think the motor is bad but then it should not be working correctly on low. If the switch was not working right then I would imagine that the motor would not be trying to run at all (it actually seems like is running with low voltage when on high). Could the circuit board for the wiper motor cause these symptoms and is it available seperately or do I need the entire motor assembly? Thanks, JIM
Ranger
My guess is the circuitry. I don't know if it is serviceable, but I doubt it.
Regis
Sounds like you need a new wiper motor cover. The actual cover has circuits which can be seen when removed. The symptoms you describe are common to a cover circuit gone bad. I just checked Rockauto.com for a wiper motor cover for your 99 deville at $74 (ouch). I would check some other sites for best price. Good luck and report back. =) "Burns" rubber " I've never considered myself to be all that conservative, but it seems the more liberal some people get the more conservative I become.
