Ranger
U1016 - Loss of Communications with PCM U1000 - Class 2 Communication Malfunction P0340 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit B1875 - Driver Belt Tower Down Switch Circuit Malfunction The "U" codes could be caused if you pulled battery power. CMP code might be intermittent and the CMP may need to be replaced. Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor failures are MUCH more common on an '02. The 1875 is referring to the seat belt. LINDAL
anything to worry about? I just bought the car and all the codes are history. I am planning on taking it on a 11 hour trip tomorrow.

Ranger
CMP = Camshaft Position Sensor. Kind of like changing a spark plug, once you get to it. Since they are all history codes, clear them and see if any return. I am not sure, but I think the B1875 might be for the seat belt retractor. A malfunction there is obvious. Not really sure what symptoms the CMP sensor would cause when current. Most likely would cause some type of drivability problem, but again, it is history, so clear it and check them again after you drive it next. P.S. Change your profile. It still shows '95 & '97. LINDAL
I am freaking out! We had a carbon test done today and it shows bad. I bought the car late on Friday night at a dealership. My husband is on the way to return the car. Not sure what they will say but I am hoping I have 3 days to back out. Linda
