P0201, and P0300

Well I got home today and the wife tells me she thinks the car was on fire??????

Her Father came over and said he saw the smoke coming out near the catylitic converter.

I instantly checked the codes, and got the P0201, and P0300.

I know it is for the Injector One control circuit, and the P0300 is for the missfire. Why would the smoke come out?

Any input would be good.

Thanks guys....

A misfire may result in excessive oxygen and/or fuel in the exhaust, leading to abnormally high exhaust temperatures. The visible smoke is likely from combustion of contamination (oil, dirt, etc.) on or near the exhaust system.

Well I figured it out!

I ended up having to send it to the dealer.

I will have to go through insurance on this one....

:wipetears

The smoke was a huge muskrat on the cat.., and under the hood is completely distroyed!

Every wire that is under the hood has been eaten and cut in half, this thing didn't leave a wire unturned!!!!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys.

I got the car back from the dealership.

They say the toal damage was $1200.00.

The one thing that peeves me, is the insurance didn't cover the hood liner the vermant ate!

They say I need to prove the hood liner was not ripped prior to this incident.....even though there was a huge nest made out of it!!!???

darn insurance!

How do you prove this??

Anyway, the car is runnig good again.

Cheers to all!

that turned out to be an expensive muskrat!! wow!

I don't know how you'd go about proving that the muskrat destroyed your hood liner.....maybe if you had an old picture or something. I don't think we have a bad varmint problem around here, but a few digital pictures would probably be a good idea! haha I hope it works out for ya.
