Jason15036
I dont know all the details yet, but my buddy has a 2001 Dts and he put the key in the ignition to start and nothing happend like the battery was dead which he checked and it was ok. Then he put the spare set in the ignition to try it and nothing happend, but when he turned the key back to off the keys will not come out and the ignition and will not start. How do I check the codes on Dts. Thanks for the help Jason
Bruce Nunnally
Reading codes: http://www.caddyinfo.com/readingcodes.html Sounds as if it might be an ignition tumbler / switch issue. adallak
Sounds like a broken actuator deep inside of the steering column. If that's the case it is not easy to get it replaced without special tools. The actuator links the movement of the key to the ignition switch which is attached to the lower part of the column. Ranger
If the key will not come out, I believe that it is an electrical problem. I think I remember hearing of this before. Swap the battery with a known good one to check it.
