Bruce Nunnally
Autoweek has a new take on future Cadillac product planning here: http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...E/70730005/1065 More a confirmation really of the rumors we had heard. The DTS & STS to merge into a new RWD large sedan. The CTS multiplies to add coupe, convertible?, station wagon. No mention lately of the convertible CTS, so maybe it faded? But it depends on the coupe emerging first, then will be a couple convertible. A new car comes in below the CTS. The SRX is replaced with a BRX (theta/epsilon chassis hybrid) that is a smaller crossover, or continues on alongside the BRX. The XLR is freshened in 09, the CTS-V gets the CTS updates (we also hear a new powerful engine) in 09. The XLR redesign in 2012, which is odd as one might think it would stay in sync with the Corvette evolution. The BTS? or smaller-than-a-CTS sedan is apparently already approved for production, and is on the way. It is a combination of a Sigma chassis (CTS/STS/SRX) with the kappa chassis (Solstice/Sky) (smaller corvette chassis basically) which are two very good things and should result in a great sedan. The Escalade (updated in 07) gets freshened in 2012. FUTURE PRODUCT PLANS 2008 CTS restyled, re-engineered STS refreshened 2009 CTS-V restyled, re-engineered CTS wagon possible XLR refreshening BRX crossover likely 2010 CTS coupe expected CTS sedan refreshening likely 2011 Small rwd sedan likely Large rwd sedan possible Rwd flagship sedan or coupe possible SRX re-engineering, restyling possible Bruce 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Follow me on: Twitter Instagram Youtube
