FSchuett
Hello, I´ve a little problem with my speedometer... Frequently the speedometer needle is jumping from example 100km/h to 120km/h and return. It´s no regularity but it was every week and more... I think it´s a electric problem with the plug connection. Now, where is these plug connection from the speedometer, because I want to clean them. Or is it another problem ? Frank
MAC
This is going to sound like a broken record, but clean battery terminals and cables. Remove all corrosion even under the red cable insulation on the positive side and make sure battery ground is making good contact. A speedometer will jump and you may even see the DIC blink if there is loss of PCM data caused by battery corrosion.
BodybyFisher
I don't think your car has a speedometer cable, a jumpy speedometer used to be the sign of a bad speedometer cable. Check your Vehicle Speed Sensor, its on the right output shaft housing. Thank´s Frank Frank, do you mean the ISS (Input Speed Sensor) or the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor)? The VSS is on the passenger side of the transaxle on the top, here is a photo Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
