baseball
I just bought a 2004 SRX today The transmission choices are PRND 4 ... The owner's manual says nothing about what gear '4' is for or when it's to be used. Anyone know when I should use this gear? It's an AWD V6; original window sticker states 5-speed automatic w/driver shift control and then AWD is listed as replacing Std transmission. Thanks!!!! Bruce Nunnally
Welcome to Caddyinfo.com! It is a 5-speed transmission, so position 4 allows the transmission to shift from gears 1-4 but locks out 5. You might choose to do this while towing in order to keep the transmission from shifting into 5th then hunting for 4th again. As I recall it changes the transmission cooling flow in a good way also.
