Texas Jim
I love the way the my N* runs. I have a small question for everyone with a N* that may sound stupid. If so, just ignore me. Does your N* have (more or less) 2 different power bands. Mine pulls "MUCH" stronger after passing 3000 RPM. From 3000 all the way to 6500.... it really sings. I love the SOUND of the N* ......... just in case you couldn't tell. I don't mean it is a dog BELOW 3000...(it runs fine) ...but it is a whole 'nother story AFTER it passes 3000... then it runs GREAT. It feels like you suddenly give it more gas as it passes 3000. If any of you are old enough to remember multi carb setups on big blocks .... 2x4's or 3x2's ... it is kinda like that.... after 3000, it feels like, in the old days, when the extra carbs opened and dumped extra fuel to the engine. The other day when Bruce was driving it.... I tried to get him to STAND ON IT... but he was too much a gentleman and didn't want to abuse my car. We need more nice guys in the world. It would be a better place.... but thats ANOTHER subject. So the original question...... Does "YOUR" N* do that? Only come really alive after 3000 RPM? Bruce Nunnally
That's where the torque picks up; with the new variable valve timing (VVT) RWD models that sweet spot is even wider because there is less compromise on cam selection due to the VVT. JimD
Doing what is should. Whenever (rarely) I let someone drive my car, I tell them to be prepared when the RPM goes through 3,000. WarrenJ
Yep, I keep looking under my hood for that turbocharger. Haven't found it yet though. WarrenJ
Yep, I keep looking under my hood for that turbocharger. Haven't found it yet though. Giving that some further thought, I've come to realize I haven't looked under the intake manifold yet. Cadillac, you know, likes to hide things under there! Hmmn?
