gc_caddy
I'm doing my annual coolant drain and fill. I prefer doing it annually to be safe. Do you guys just normally tighening the drain cock as finger tight as possible? In the past, I've used a wrench to tighten it... fairly tight. But, it makes the annual untightening a little challenging. Is finger tight, as tight as one can manage. OK?
JimD
You could try it and watch carefully after you fill and get the engine up to thermostat open temperature. Is there an O ring seal on that valve? If so, hand tight should seal it. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
Ranger
I think there is an "O" ring on it Jim. Personally I prefer just a tad tighter than finger tight unless you can get a good grip on it.
gc_caddy
Yes, there is an O-ring on the drain cock. I guess I'll just do my usual method, with a wrench. I just thought I could avoid the usual hand scrape-ing. It's tight down there! Thanks!
