bpeesy
I'm trying to clear trouble codes in my 93 STS wth the Northstar engine. I have disconnected the battery and pulled the pcm fuses at the same time. when ever I hook the batter back up. the same codes are there. Can anyone provide the correct procedure or any procedure to clear these codes so that I can see if I fixed my problem? Thanks

Poobah
There are codes that are set whenever the battery is disconnected. These are probably what you're getting. The better (and simpler) way to clear them is to pull the codes, let the DIC go through its read-out, then when it asks CLEAR CODES?, answer "yes". (I no longer have my '94 so I can't go out and verify the exact procedure, but that's the gist of it.) If you do it this way, and the codes keep coming back, then there's something that needs attention. Happiness is owning a Cadillac with no codes.
