slickster88
Hi, the lock assembly on my 1993 Seville's glove compartment broke. The plastic piece that moves the latch when you lift the handle split apart. The lock cylinder itself still works. I can spring the door open with a small screwdriver but would like to replace the assembly. I have the factory manuals but they don't list the part number. Does anyone have the part number or know where I can find a new or used one? Thanks!
Poobah
Cadillac dealers might still stock that part. It shouldn't be too horribly expansive. Happiness is owning a Cadillac with no codes.
STSSCOTT
There are at least two different catches for these doors. I just replaced the one on my 93. One has a wide plastic catch on it and one has a metal hook catch. Your best bet is either on ebay, or take your vin to a dealer, they are about $50, and don't include the tumblers. good luck scott
slickster88
Thanks Scott, I have been checking on ebay. My latch is just the standard plastic handle with the key lock on the right. I was hoping for the part # so I can check online (gmpartsdirect) for a price.
Poobah
I was hoping for the part # so I can check online (gmpartsdirect) for a price. E-mail gmpartsdirect with a description of the part and be sure to include your VIN. They'll respond with the part number which you can look up on their web site and get the price. (At least they've done this for me in the past.) Happiness is owning a Cadillac with no codes.
