ted tcb
I know this has been shown before, but spring is almost here, and its cleanup time for some of us. My covers weren't too bad, just lightly pitted, so I just used the very light 2000 grit wet sandpaper. I then lightly power buffed, using Maguire's X then Maguire's Plastic cleaner. In the past, I started with 1000grit and finished off with 2000grit paper. The pic on the left, obviously, is the clear finished product. The tape on the grill was epoxy setting ... a piece of chrome was loose. Total time was perhaps 30 minutes. 1989 FWD Fleetwood, Silver 1995 STS Crimson Pearl on Black leather 1997 STS Diamond White 1999 STS Crimson Pearl 2001 STS Silver 2003 STS, Crimson Pearl

Bruce Nunnally
Interesting. I saw someone offerring polishing as a service on craig's list. I guess this comes up on lots of cars now. Mine kinda look like the one on the right.I was thinking of geting new lenses. I will try this first for sure. Did you ever think of removing the lenses and washing them out with hot soapy water, rinse well, let dry and repalce? I think I will wash the inside and then do the outside as you have done. Way cheaper than new lenses. 2001 STS Mettalic Otter Grey, Black Leather, 213,000 kilometers - miles - ? Still running strong!
JasonA
Mine are pretty bad, on the '01. They're badly pitted in some areas. I need to do this ASAP.
