Cadillac production unmbers

Recommended Posts

I was browsing the CO forum today, and I saw the Eldorado production numbers since inception. Drilling down, there were only 520 DCM (Dark Cherry Metallic U9800) Eldorado Touring Coupes made in 1994.

Wow, that makes me feel like part of something. I didn't realize some of these cars were made in such limited production, being domestic and all. And for the record, I did not like the send-off 2003 Eldorado "Special" Edition. They should've done something more along the lines of WarrenJ's original, 'Baby'....yikes!

The intention was good, but that upholstery (on the "Special" Edition)!! Oh, the humanity.... :o

...and that would be NUmbers, not UNmbers.

My 1997 ETC is Dark Cherry. 1997 was the last year. Dark Cherry never did sell very well. When I bought my car I didn't like the color but it was the only one that had all the options, and the 1998's were out so a special order was not in the works. After I had the car a week or so I began to appreciate Dark Cherry. I'm very proud of the color, and, yes, it is a unique car.

Aw c'mon, Baby's not here to defend herself. :) She was at once a "Lady" and a whore; she made her personalities known appropriately.

Several folk objected to the 16 spoke wheels. I thought they were elegant. As is said however, there's no accounting for taste.

I didn't care for the carriage top at first, but it grew on me. That's likely because Baby was mine. Before Baby came around, I detested those canvas tops. Ownership, I suppose, changes one's perspective.

Yes, those sort of upholstery accents are hideous on anything larger than a Miata.

Regards,

Warren

There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises

Don't get me wrong - I liked the way she looked! I like the 16-spoke wheels, too; that's what I currently have. Well, I got some OEM chrome replacements (not the 16-spoke, though). We'll see how they turn out once I get them mounted and balanced.

Hmmm, I always liked the carriage tops; reminded me of the days of the Landau. Maybe I'm a throwback?!
