Bruce Nunnally
This would be an auction pickup for a 4.5L or 4.9L engine owner who wanted to try experimenting with that interesting allante intake: http://cgi.ebay.com/1987-CADILLAC-ALLANTE-...1QQcmdZViewItem Not my auction, just noted it. Bruce Nunnally
I would not expect it to change the shift RPM. But the 87 Allante made 170hp out of the HT4100 that the rest of the line got 130hp from; part of the reason was that trick intake. One reference notes it also had magnesium rocker arm covers, and an aluminum oil pan, but those don't seem like power adders. Astrak
Uhh yea those wouldn't be power adders maybe weight savers. What would this do to a 4.9.
Bruce Nunnally
No one knows; the Allante held on to a unique, tuned 4.5L until 93 when it swapped to the 4.6L Northstar, skipping the 4.9L. Astrak
Will it bolt up to a 4.9? R u trying to say I should try it?
Bruce Nunnally
I have seen a reference where someone had bolted one to a 4.9L and it was a direct fit. I think it would be an interesting experiment. Bruce 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Follow me on: Twitter Instagram Youtube

I think it would work wonders on a 4.9... Keep in mind that the Allante 4.5 produced more power and almost exactly the same amount of torque as the regular ol' 4.9... I though the Allante also got unique heads, cams, lifters and rockers... all designed to work with the TPI like intake...
