slight AC problem

serpentking

Recommended Posts

94 Deville 4.9. AC seems to stop blowing cold the higher the engine RPM gets. Even at about 60-70 MPHs, when you let go the accelerator, the AC gets cold again, but when you get back on the accelerator, it stops blowing cold. Ive been told to just add freon and Ive been told to vacuum the system and then refill. Which is it?

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the compressor pulley may be slipping on the belt. I would check that first.

Pull the OBD II codes and post them here. We may be able to tell something that will save you money.
