coolnesss
Help! The side tank on my 98 ETC's radiator is leaking - and I want to know if there's some consensus about which brand to buy - I think I'm going to hold onto this car for awhile. The local shops have Modine radiators - are they any good? I need it today so I don't have the option of ordering online. Is there any special thing I should specify for the ETC? THANKS!!!!!!! BodybyFisher
Modine is a good brand, just make sure that it has all of the engine and tranny cooling taps in the right location for your car and that is has the same cooling capacity. Mike, Do you know if there's a difference between the ETC and regular Eldo application? THANKS
BodybyFisher
I can't help you with that. If I were you I would go to Rockauto.com and see if there is a different part number for the base vs ETC versions, my gut tells me no, there is no reason for it.. Yep, you're right. Just to check I went to gmpartsdirect.com - which is a pretty good source, I believe, and Rock Auto also - and both had the same part number for each application. Ranger
Can't swear to it, but I would seriously doubt that there is any difference in the Base Eldo & ETC cooling systems.

Glad I could help, let us know how it turns out Well, the Modine wasn't available, so he got a Performance Radiator radiator - 3 year warranty - and a new oem thermostat also. The fans don't seem to be operating the way they should - so the mechanic is going to look into those also. Hopefully this will bring down the temps - he's been running a little warmer lately than when he was new. I'm kinda disappointed that the radiator didn't last more than 86k miles, but, them's the breaks. This better work - I'm going on a road trip to the desert tomorrow afternoon! BodybyFisher
Remember the side tanks are plastic. If she has been running warm, plus you say you run in the desert so your the side tanks take more pressure. Here is a point of reference, my friend has a 2002 Infinity his side tank blew out spontaineously at a red light when the car had less than 30K miles.
