Marika
I just got back from Brogan Cadillac in Totowa, New Jersey, where I photographed the Sixteen and the Cein. They were not allowed to open the car doors so while I was able to get somewhat of an interior shot for the Sixteen, I wasn't able to photograph the interior of the Cein. They had those hanging ropes all around the car, the showroom personnel were nice enough to move some of them out of the way but I was still fairly limited as to what angles I could photograph. Nonetheless, I think they'll look good. I have to work the RAW file images then upload then to photobucket.com. I'm exhausted since it's not really hot outside but it's humid, yuk! When they're ready I'll post the link to the slide show. If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans. Marika
They're here!!!!!!!!! http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j162/gir...;slideshow=true When you view the images in the slide show, you might notice a moire' pattern in the body lines of the two cars. This is because you are not viewing the images at full size during the slide show. At full size, there is no moire' pattern. You may also notice "spots" or light dots in the images, especially on the Sixteen. This was caused by the reflections of the overhead lights in the dealership showroom, they are not caused by "hot pixels". ENJOY!!!!! If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.

Bruce Nunnally
Thank you for posting Marika! Wow, this view of the Cadillac Sixteen even more clearly illustrates what I think is wrong with the styling of the current STS: The story is that the STS was to be more angular, but that it changed in the final reviews to look more curvey like the Sixteen. However, these shots show that the Sixteen is not all that curvey in the wrong places, but rather looks what I would describe as more detailed: My major thesis is that the flat, lack of detail from the top of the left and right front fendors across the hood of the STS, as opposed to the W shape that is subtlely done in the CTS, or the same W shape that is shown here in the Sixteen, completely breaks the design from the front view. Even if they needed the room in the center of the hood, the hood should be styled to maintain the design intent, so that the front fenders have some visual fall down to the hood. I had a good time taking them. I just printed all thirty of them from the RAW files on 8 x 10. Razor sharp. I really like the Cien XV12... its beautiful Heck, I'll take either one. I'm not fussy.... Panasonic Lumix FZ-30 which is no longer available and has been replaced by the model FZ-50. http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/store...000000000005702 If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. I've been looking at that camera! I was looking at it a year ago and almost bought it. I originally liked the FZ-20, but was hoping/waiting for the twist LCD screen the 30 has. I've narrowed it down to the FZ30 or 50, or the FZ-7 even and the Canon S3. I was looking at the FZ-7 because Costco has it at a decent price, and they back the items they sell for life. Do you like your FZ-30? Do you have any problems with grainy pics in low light? Do your indoor pics at night w/ flash look good? What do you think about the FZ-50 and the S3? Do you think I'd be shorting myself with the FZ-7?

Yes, there can be noise in the image in low light if you shoot in JPEG mode which is why I shoot in RAW mode. Yes, the indoor pics with the flash at night look fine. The FZ-50 has some improvements I believe over the FZ-30 including more megapixels which is not always a blessing. If you refer to the S3Pro from Fuji, that's an excellent camera. Yes, you're shooting yourself with the FZ-7, get the FZ-50 or the FZ-30 if you can still find one. That Leica glass is awesome! I was referring to the Canon S3 IS, are you familiar with that camera at all? It gets pretty decent reviews. I haven't looked at the Fuji. What program do you use for RAW?

What program do you use for RAW? I think plenty of people have heard of Lumix cameras, they are the 4th most popular selling camera behind Canon, Nikon and Sony. The Leica glass is the reason I bought the camera, especially the zoom available, it goes from 35mm to 420mm, perfect for newspaper work. I'm familiar with the Canon S3, better off getting the Canon EOS Digital Rebel instead if you're going to buy a Canon. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 with the RAW file plug in which can be downloaded for free from the Adobe site. epricedright
I thought the specs looked pretty similiar between the S3 and the FZ-30. I think it was dpreview that liked the S3 better. The pics looked softer with the S3 (typical for Canon glass I hear), which I didn't like, whereas the Lumix pics were sharper. I don't want a rebel because I don't want to lug around lenses, although I have some Canon glass already. My lenses aren't good enough to warrant carrying them around everywhere though. I think I'll start looking for a good price on the FZ-50. Thanks for your input. Do you work for your local newspaper or ?

The Leica glass is razor sharp, sometimes to a fault but I prefer sharp and noisy to soft and noiseless. Yes, I do freelance work for two local papers. Not too often but occasionally.
