My STS will not start from storm. Put alot of money in it over the years, new Northstar Engine, Transmission, etc parts. Reported it to my Insurance Company and they talked about totaling the car over the phone before even looking at it. Today they had it towed to a Insurance Auto Broker Company listed on my caller ID. I could not detect any bad codes except for engine stall and lost of memory due to my neighbor and I making sure the battery was fully recharged. Other than that I cannot find any codes that wil prevent the car from starting. The rain did a bad job on the paint job. I was told if a vehicle is over 10 years olde most Insurance Companies will total a vehicle. I don't want to part my vehicle due to all the replacement parts over the years. Any advise on this situation? Should I let them total it out?

Hi, i am in sout-east FL too, but did not get too much rain where I am (and I had a cover on).

If the insurance company is going to give you less than 2K then money wise

you can make lots more selling parts separately. On the other hand, if it would be me and

I would have space in the garage i would just keep it to tinker with, since now I am in love

with cadillacs :-). It cannot be that bad unless it was under salt water and has corroded everything.

Did any of the floodwater enter the interior of the car? If so, how far? If it didn't get to the underside of the dash, you should be able to clean the car up. When water gets above the bottom of the dash, it causes all sorts of problems with electronic modules and most insurance companies will want to total the car.
