Running Diagnostics on new PCM

93 Sedan

Recommended Posts

I just installed a new (reman) Delco PCM in my 1993 DeVille. Took prom pack from old and placed in the new one. This part worked fine.

Now I have to run the diagnostics...specifically TP Sensor/Idle learn.

My question is as I prompt through the E.0.1...response E.9.6 then E.0.2 stuff...what is it I'm looking for and want to accomplish. Do I keep toggling the "HI" button to advance it through to the end (up to E1.2. I think)

Reason I ask, I have a page from a caddy manual (given to me by a caddy mechanic) that's a long list mostly duplicating the diganostics over and over again that I followed to the T.

I took the car for a run and the idle seems to stay high after removing foot from gas pedal. SES light came on. Code showed E27 - "Open Throttle switch circuit" if I'm correct.

In short, what did I just spend the last half hour doing?
