Good Product or Bad?

Was wondering if any of you have tried this "Chassis Saver" or used a similar product and what the results were, I've noticed rust poping up here and there under the car on the frame, especially the front area where the shields protect the engine/ rub against those high driveways and was wondering what kinda of supplies you use to keep that clear of rust. I don't have the option of garaging the car this winter so its going to need all the help it can get from salt and other road grime.

This stuff isn't cheap so was wondering if you have found cheaper alternatives. I suppose rustolieum comes to everyones mind but wasn't sure how well it holds up, especially since I was going to try and get away with just putting something over it so it can't spread.

The Green's Machines

1998 Deville - high mileage, keeps on going, custom cat-back exhaust

2003 Seville - stock low mileage goodness!

2004 Grand Prix GTP CompG - Smaller supercharger pulley, Ported Exhaust Manifolds, Dyno tune, etc

1998 Firebird Formula - 408 LQ9 Stroker motor swap and all sorts of go fast stuff

www.saranwrap.com Hehehe Havent heard anything about chassis saver but it may comfort you to know that my car has been in mid michigan all its life and through all of the winters it has held up remarkable well. There isnt any rust under the car that I am aware of. No special coating or anything just special attention. Make sure that you rinse the underside of the car every week or so. Its not a guaranteed thing but it seems to make a word of difference.

it's the black part? - yes, I noticed that on my car too a while back. - if not for the sake of the car, I started getting rust stains on my driveway. I sanded, and applied a rustoleum gloss black, and it worked great. I don't know what I have been hitting that scraped the paint off the frame, but I don't think any paint would have held up, as it left scratches in the metal as well.

other rust started coming from the battery tray. I took out the battey, rinsed, sanded, primed, and sprayed several coats to the top & bottom of the tray. both areas look as good as new (maybe better - since I gave it many more coats of paint to be sure I'm not doing this again soon) :)

It's worth a try. I've used many products - POR 15 or 16 or whatever it's called, Eastwood's Corroless, rust converter and all with limited success. The best product I've found (from fellow members of the Alfa Romeo Owners Cub) was to take vacuum cleaner cleanings (all the crap you vac up in your house) mix it with used motor oil and spray it (garden sprayer) all over the bottom of your car and anywhere else road salt can do it's satanic work.

Makes a helluva a mess under your car but it works the best...

I have had very good results with a paint called "zero rust" fairly cheap, fairly easy to get, and easy to use... Por-15 on the other hand is not cheap, hard to get, and a major PITA to use.
