Squeeking from the front wheel(s)?

I hear a squeeking sound from the front wheels of my 90 Seville when the car is moving

Someone says that it is brake wear indicators...

I thought that those would make a loud noise when you got on the brakes..

They usually start out as a very quiet squeek, almost like a chirpping bird. It will usually go away when the brakes are applied. If ignored, it will get louder.

Had the wheels off today to put new tires on.. brakes have around 20% left on them.. the sound doesn't go away when I press down on the brakes which makes me think it is not a hanging brake or the wear indicators

I wonder what it is... it aint too bad of a noise it is quiet

Brake wear indicator noise does not go away when you hit the brakes, if anything it becomes louder. I started noticing mine when I turned the wheel one way or another. While you had the wheels off did you check the indicators? You can bend them away from the rotor but you take the chance of wearing grooves into the rotors by the brake rivets if it has them. Change your brakes, I just had my front brakes changed on the 94 Concours for $58 parts & labor.
