Marika
Don't forget, this Saturday, August 19, 2006, from 9am to 3pm, there is a Cadillac Car show at the Brogan Cadillac Dealership in Totowa, New Jersey. They are on Route 46 East. The show will consist of all Cadillacs. Brogan Cadillac 112 Route 46 East Totowa, NJ 07512 Toll Free: (800) 269-6959 I'm going to be there taking pictures of course. If any of you show up, call my cellphone when you get there and we'll connect. 201-747-4219. Cheers, Marika If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans. Marika
OK!!! just got back from the car show and it was a jaw dropping experience. I've NEVER seen such stunning examples of gorgeous cars in all my life. Mostly Caddy, and they spanned the range from 1941 to about the 1980's. The only complaint I had about the show was the tent they put up to house some of the older cars, it has grey and yellow stripes and unfortunately, you'll see those yellow stripes in the laquer finish on the older Caddys. I told the show organizer that next year, get a tent with a neutral, single color. Duh!! It was a very humid day today, I thought I was on vacation in the tropics. While I was at the car show, I also had the dealership change the oil and do the front brakes on my car. Stops on a dime and gives you 9 cents change... Anyway, I'm downloading the images to my computer now (112 of them) and I'll have to process them one by one through Photoshop as they are in RAW format. Might take me a few hours or so but they'll be uploaded to Photobucket.com and the folder name will be "Brogan Cadillac Show 2006". I'll let everyone know when it's ready for viewing. If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.
Bruce Nunnally
Yay. I love the older cars, as long as I don't have to pay to maintain and store them. I am always tempted to get a early convertible for a hobby car, but I am afraid it would sit more than run. Marika
http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j162/gir...;slideshow=true OK!!!! they're here!!!! Hope the link works and hope everyone enjoys them. Historical: A lot of cars showed up at the show that did not pre-register causing a problem for the girl at the gate who couldn't really turn them away but has to figure out where she could put all the cars!! Well, she did manage to fit everyone in after throwing away her carefully planned map of the parking lot. She was probably one of the most pleasant people I've ever met, and I never got her name. In fact, everyone was very pleasant there!! The oldest caddys there were from 1941. Then you had your assortment from the 50's, 60's and 70's. There was also a Bentley and a few LaSalle's. The tent was made of material that consisted of grey and yellow stripes. DUMB move. The stunning cars with their perfect finishes reflected the yellow stripes, ruining the images. YUK But nonetheless, you'll get the idea. These cars are real jaw droppers. If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans. Marika
Nice shots, and thank you very much for posting. Classics like this always please: Was the show sponsored by the local Cadillac Lasalle club? The show was sponsored by Brogan Cadillac of Totowa but the Cadillac Lasalle Club were invited. As for that "classic" above, that's the engine from the little sports car Caddy that's out now, forgot the name of it... If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. Beautiful cars. Automobile parts and panels are easier to repair/replace than humans. The cost trade-off is an acceptable consequence. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! WarrenJ
Marika, Firstly, thanks for the huge amount of time and effort you put into this! The results were well worth it and greatly appreciated. Secondly (okay, here it comes), are you able to identify the three folks in this photo? http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j162/gir...gAnch=imgAnch61 Regards, Warren There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. A lot of men were walking around with those "hawaiian style shirts" if you've noticed from other images and they were all employees of Brogan. Bottom line, they were the nicest, friendliest people I've ever met, especially at a dealership. Mr. Brogan should be proud of his crew. I took that picture was waaaaaaaaaaaay across the other side of the parking lot. They were surprised when I played back the image on the camera's LCD monitor, that I managed to get them from that far away... (Don't tell me you're in that picture??) Thanks again, Warren the Cien and the Sixteen are coming to that dealership in September. I was talking with Brogan's Internet Manager about it, he told me GM is coming into the dealership to set up the entire display which will be inside the showroom. I can't wait!!! Bring the camera and tripod inside for some interesting pics. I'll have them on line as well so stay tuned. I'll wait patiently for the Cien & The Sixteen. I'd love to be there. Unfortunately, I have to give 30 days notice to get a Saturday vacation day. Elsewise, it requires swapping time with willing work accomplices. Not easy that! With enough notice, however, it can be done. Please let me (us) know when the date is firm. I'd love to be photographed in, on, nearby, or even under The Sixteen! Regards, Warren P.S. If necessary, I'd even wear a Hawiian shirt!
