brenark
I purchased Arnott Industries passive struts for my 96 deville. I got the left side strut on with no problems. However, the right side strut is a different story. When trying to remove the nut at the top of the old strut, i managed to ruin the hex used to keep the strut shaft from rotating. I tried a TORX T-50 socket and tried driving in standard hex sockets of different sizes. I have managed to completely ruin the hex in the upper strut shaft. Does anyone have suggestions on some other method to get the old strut off?
Ranger
Can you get a pipe wrench on it? That has saved me many times after rounding off nuts.
BodybyFisher
Here is my thread from the job on my rear suspension on my 96 Deville http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?sho...rear+suspension As Ranger noted, you are going to need to find a way to hold the strut skirt tightly, its not going to be easy, pump pliers, pipe wrench? Drilling it out will not be easy either as there is no room. Maybe drilling through the skirt and placing a long punch through it to hold it in position... Whatever you do, don't bugger up the NUT use only a 6 point socket or wrench...
