brmurph
After I replaced the fuel pump on my 98 Concours I checked the fuel pressure and it leaked down about 7-8 pounds in 10 minutes (specs say 5 pounds or less in 10 minutes is acceptable). I checked the fuel pressure regulator and sure enough it was leaking just a little bit, I thought this was probably causing the fuel pressure to leak down but after I replaced the regulator it now leaks about 12-15 pounds in 10 minutes (worse then before). Obvously there is a problem with the install but I pulled it out about 4 times to make sure everything looked OK and as far as I can tell it looks good. Is there a trick to installing the regulator correctly? The car seems to run fine so maybe this is nothing to worry about. Any thoughts? Thanks. Ranger
The check valve in the pump may be leaking down, but as long as it holds pressure while running I would not worry about it.
WarrenJ
That was unusually long for a short post. You might have a leaking fuel injector. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises
brmurph
I figured it was nothing to worry about for now. I will have to check the injectors when I get some time. Thanks.

brmurph
See Logan's post on this thread: http://caddyinfo.ipbhost.com/index.php?sho...10258&st=15 Thanks, not sure how I missed that thread :-). Since I have already replaced the regulator you think it would be worth pulling it back out and adding the greese to the o rings or just leave it alone? BodybyFisher
The white grease is used by me to just help the o-rings seat easier, if you think the two o-rings are seated, no need to do it. As you know never use petroleum based grease on rubber. Mike How is it running, are you just concerned its not holding pressure? brmurph
I like the idea of using the white lithium grease cause it sure didn't feel right going in dry. I knew that most oils are bad for rubber, I did not know that white lithium grease is compatible. The engine is running great so I guess it is not really an issue, I just thought it was strange that the pressure dropped quicker after I replaced the regulator as I was hoping it would hold pressure longer. Also it seems that I can smell gas evey once in a while in the cabin when driving but that might be all in my head :-). Thanks.
