GreenMachine
Had the alignment done today along with a balance and rotation of the tires. They gave me a before and after printout of my alignment. I know some but not alot and from what it appears on the sheet I should have done it sooner, or at least the right side needed some love. JasonA
Your right front toe was just slightly out. Not sure why they indicate the total toe was out of spec, as it is IN spec according to their sheets (.20*). Anyway, looks spot-on now. BodybyFisher
I don't think your before figures were too far out. Were you getting any driveability problems? Pulling, etc? Looks good now. Mine was way out, if I can find my sheet, I will post it.. GreenMachine
yeah slight pull and vibration at highway speeds, took it on the highway today and still a minor shake to the car. Gonna look into seeing if one of those Road Force Balance places are near me in the buffalo, NY area. Gonna look into seeing if one of those Road Force Balance places are near me in the buffalo, NY area. I assume you have rotated and balanced your tires? I find that makes a huge difference on mine. Just last night I was thinking wow she rides so smoothly... I buy my Michelin tires at Costco as I like the free rotate and balance service, every 7000 miles I am back to do it again. If you find that you are gingerly driving into driveways and curb cuts, consider that given that you have a 98, your struts have reached the end of their life and are transmitting road vibration if you don't find a problem with your tires. GreenMachine
Yeah the struts are certainly getting there. I did indeed have the tires balanced and rotated. I relize this car is getting old. More or less I think its mainly certain stretches of highway, newly paved I can go 80 smooth as silk. Where I had the tires put on I receive free balance and rotations and Perilli says rotate every 5 thousand or your warranty is dubunked so thats what I do (or close as I can). I have the P3000 Cinturato M&S All-Season tires. Its slight so I'm not worried about it, and its not enough to get me annoyed on a trip (which I'm doing next week) but I hear that those roadforce balances seem to work miracles Its one of those things that get magnified simply because your looking for it I think The Green's Machines 1998 Deville - high mileage, keeps on going, custom cat-back exhaust 2003 Seville - stock low mileage goodness! 2004 Grand Prix GTP CompG - Smaller supercharger pulley, Ported Exhaust Manifolds, Dyno tune, etc 1998 Firebird Formula - 408 LQ9 Stroker motor swap and all sorts of go fast stuff
