franey Posted July 12, 2006 Report Share Posted July 12, 2006 A while back another individual posted a how to article on increasing the distance that y0ur remote would work by extending an antenna wire from the actuator into the trunk , I would like to do this but am having trouble finding article. franey Posted July 15, 2006 Author Report Share Posted July 15, 2006 I used a fm antenna for a house radio with a two foot connecting wire, solder the end of the wire to the end of the built in antenna and drilled a small hole in the end of the control box and went through the back of the back panel into the trunk where i had mounted the square fm antenna to the bottom of the rear package tray, between the two rear speakers. Now i can open or lock my doors from around 50 to 60 feet. Before even with a new battery , you were lucky to get it to work right beside the car.
