JimD
One hundred years ago we had the brothers Wright on the outer banks. Recently we had this event in Toronto. An articulated wing aircraft flew for approx. 14 seconds and achieved a distance slightly longer than Wilbur on his first flight. The initial thrust was provided by a very small turbine engine. Notice the three section top wing design. Then notice the difference in the position of the center wing section between the pictures. Not exactly a breakthrough in this time of inter-planetary flight, but a mechanical achievement that has been pursued for many lifetimes. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
