The Fred
Well I have around 5000 in cash coming early next week, This one guy has this Deville for $6500 and he'll even pay the sales tax. All of the gaskets have been done at a Cadillac dealer I asked if it was timeserted he says yes.. If so it is just like a brand new automobile, right? MerryChristmas Be a Capitalist or work for one. Cadillac Jim
Sounds good. Get the VIN and run a CarFAX, and have it looked at, and you will be 99% sure. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. BodybyFisher
See if you can confirm that the block was time-serted from the dealer they should be able to do that.... Most users are clueless! They may not have wanted to spend extra for time-serting, and they may not actually know what timeserting is. NO WAY I would be a car that had its head gaskets done WITHOUT confirming that it was TIMESERTED..... GreenMachine
Carfax is good but I can never stress enough take it to a mechanic you know to check it out and also to a body shop or paint guy you know. If they pay out of pocket from hitting a tree or something and not report it, it wont go on carfax. KHE
$6500 seems awfully cheap for a '98 with only 73,000 on the clock. I agree with the others - call/visit the dealer who supposedly did the work and review the repair order to make sure the repair was performed properly.
