morgan
The antenna on my ’97 STS quit working. The motor was running but no up & down. I removed it and then took it apart and discovered the white plastic wire broke. I ran off the local dealership and purchased the replacement which came with a new antenna too. I put it all back together and now when it goes down it leaves about a foot of the antenna out and shuts off. Any suggestions as to why? I took it apart and it seems br be winding up ok. It simply stops. Is the switch inside shot?
Ranger
No, you installed it wrong. There is a prceedure to be followed in which you run the antenna up for a 1/4 turn of the gear (or something like that) then unplug it and do the install. You simpl;y have it out of synchronization. Reread the instruction and start over.

KHE
Usually, the cable end is inserted into the gear and then power is applied to the motor to wind up the cable. Once the slack is removed, the antenna can be re-assembled and installed into the car. Ranger
The instructions are in the FSM (in english). You might want to check Ebay. The good book is always worth having around.
