Anybody know the Cadillac horn notes used in the 70s to the 90s? The horn notes on my 93 Deville sound nothing like horns on my 2011 or my 72 . Anybody know the notes used on the 93 vs. the 72? Or even the various years? Missin' that old school Caddy trumpets sound on my 93!
Hi All. Tired of the horn issues on my 97 D'elegance. I have located 3 horns. 1 on the driver side, 2 on the passenger side. I will have to check to see what notes they are. I want to rebuild all of the horns but am not sure where the fourth is located. Maybe It is separate from the others in the fender or something. Anyone know? When they work they seem fine, but when they dont the relay just clicks. More than likely it was caused by the lovely airbag contact issue that used to make the horns blare for no apparent reason. I seem to have that issue resolved (I hope)
Hi all. This morning I walked by my Deville and heard a constant buzzing noise. I thought oh crap the blower motor must have went bad (has happened before on others.) and was running all the time. Well It wasn't. I found the horn relay was the problem. I had to untape the bundle that goes around the 6 relays. I unhooked the battery and touched the terminals together. Now every time I go to hook up the battery the horn goes constant. I had to pull the relay to hook up the battery (The D'elegance trumpet horns are very pronounced) I then pulled another relay with the same number and tried it in the horn relay spot, horn blows. So I assume the relay is being grounded all the time by the column side. I dont know if the horn had been going off during the night and in the morning but I never heard anything. I pray it is not the button on the airbag. I thought they had the issue with the airbag resolved by 1997. When I had my 96 Deville I got lucky enough to be able to get a airbag from a 97 Deville and never had any problem with it. I still have the old one from the 96 but it didnt work right when you went to press it. I will have to take apart the wheel, but for the meantime I guess I have no horn. Anyone have any insight on this?
