. I've been searching in the forum about rich cold start. I have a 1993 Cadillac deville 4.9 v8. I've done maintenance. full tune up. Plugs, wires, cap and rotor. New EGR, and new PCV valve. Throttle body cleaned and air intakes (those were bad) checked the timing yesterday (at 24 degrees) don't know why but I'll bring it down. Cold start rough... too much fuel. Runs perfect after warm. Any suggestions about the rich cold start? Any info it would be much appreciated. thank you.
I have a 1993 couple deville 4.9 v8 with 177k on it. Completed a tune up amd it seem to do the trick. Was missfiring before. Recently started missfiring again. It seem like after the battery was unplugged for a while it ran fine. MAP issue? Have a E65 code. Suggestions?
Hi all. I know this has been brought up before but could use a few opinions. I have had 3 Caddys in a row with the gas gauge problem, All 3 go nuts under half a tank, First was 1 99 Deville, second was 01 eldo, third and current is my 97 Deville. I am tempted to cut the wire for now at the pump so it reads full all the time til I can fix it. I have tried chevron techron multiple times, even multiple tanks in a row. I have tried other (cleaners) and nothing works. Anything under about 11 gallons and the gauge jumps to full, then seconds later empty, Of course it dings and the message comes up. The part to fix the sender is 100.00 A whole pump unit is about 200.00 I am torn as to whether to replace the whole unit or to take my chances on just replacing the sender part. For now I have been just filling it twice a week and have been reading the fuel used. My 96 Never did this, my 97 SLS luckily has never done this, but from what I hear it is a very common problem. I am changing the pump unit on the 97 SLS because the pump got loud and is bad. I was thinking about putting the sender from the SLS on the Deville but would hate to waste my time. Would be very nice if they had the access over the tank. Would save me from having to pull 2 tanks down.
Hi, I have an 02 SLS that is causing problems. The battery light and abs lights stay on (car is charging at 14.2 volts), the fuel and temperature lights stay on. When I access self diagnostics it says "no data" from every module. I tried the disconnect the battery and touch the positive and negative cables together trick as well as leaving the battery disconnected for four days. Is my instrument panel module bad or something else? thanks
