  1. Hi guys, i picked up an '02 Seville really cheap the other day from a guy at work because the trans went out on his way in. Basically the trans is inop, will not engage drive or reverse. After doing some minor diagnosing i found that there are no codes present, and tech 2 does see the gear command change from park/neutral to drive or reverse. The fluid level was low so i added 3 quarts and that brought it up to the right spot on the dipstick, although after doing a little more research i see they are dry sump... i have yet to look at the fluid while engine is not running. I guessing the trans fluid pump went out or shaft broke, and when i check the fluid without the car running it will be at the same spot. I've tried searching the forum and it doesn't look like anyone had posted about this issue yet. Any expert knowledge out there?
  2. I would like to replace the rear deck subwoofer in my Seville STS. I`ve been checking crutchfield.com and bought a Kenwood head unit to replace with the Bose factory unit. But they don`t list any subwoofers as a fit for this car. Any recommendations ? I`m open to making some modifications to make a fit. Also, anyone have experience with replacing the door speakers with 6 3/4 replacements ? Crutchfield lists some of them as fitting my car. T.
  3. Hey guys, The HVAC blower fan quit working in my 2002 SLS last week. The HVAC system is still powered, I can hear the vents opening/closing when I change modes, some heat comes in at highway speed, and the auxiliary (rear) fan still works. I started by checking the G201 panel attached just in front of the passenger door and it appears fine with no corrosion. The fan stopped without warning (most cases I've read had intermittent problems prior to quitting for good). Then I dropped the panel from under my glovebox and disconnected the blower motor. I figured I'd make sure power was getting to it before attempting a replacement. The blower connector is 3-wire. Uninsulated, purple (center), and black. Regardless of fan position (including having the whole system shut down), I'm getting 30V across the uninsulated and purple wire, and no voltage anywhere else. Is this normal? Anything else I should be checking? Thanks!
  4. Hi all, I'm hoping someone can assist me with an issue I'm having with a 1999 Cadillac sls. First off, when the car is not driven for a few days it is stone dead. Will not start. No lights, nothing. I replaced two alternators and the battery. Issue still keeps happening. Now when I have the car running the security light and battery light stays on. I took off the rear seat to check the fuse box and there is a light blue wire and a black and white wire cut. there are so many wires i dont know what these go to. when i put the wires together with the power probe battery light stays on, and security light comes off. when i put the power probe to the black wire with no power or ground the battery light comes off. I am so stumped. I spoke to customer service and the guy ran the vin, said there "may" be a recall and a bulletin on the vehiclel but was unable to tell me what it was all about. When i call the dealership they say nothing comes up, but it "may" be an inline jumper harness short? I never even heard of this. Im at an impass. I hope somebody can shed some light on this. Thank you!
