  1. Check Tampa area FB. Sure its gotta be a 96? Several 03-04s dirt cheap! Sure..........they gonna need TLC. But if you want a $pendy nice one .....you gotta pay! See several Allantes dirt cheap too......... BUT...........Buyers for these are few and far between. (Except for a Caddy nut with the sickness!)
  2. Rock................Nice car but $10k nice? I see a couple of them in Tampa area. Some have sunburn and parking lot scars for $6k asking. Needing some TLC too.......... Is it a dealer? SCREW gas prices.......... Brandon just released all that oil to benefit us! Refiners make Millions! WE pay 5 cents a gallon less! I save my gas money to RIDE! Mmmmm Black Fleetwood.............
  3. Not much you can do at this point. As long as it rides good and no other issues I wouldnt bother with it. You have a pic as the car sits now?
  4. I have read about engine runaway warning in the GM truck forums when you disconnect the vac. line on the FPR so I figured it would apply to any other GM engine. Just a thought...........
  5. Left side DONE! All guages, chimes, lights, HVAC ops. work! PHEW!.............Need a couple cold ones now!
  6. Got the right side assembled! Takin a smoke and patience break! ............
  7. DO NOT pull vac. hose off FPR while running! Will cause engine RUNAWAY ! Only pull off vac. hose after running to check for raw fuel in vac line.
  8. Well I drove to Rochester and got the used CCC and plugged it it. BCM cost $45 IT WORKS! FDC and CCC all lit up and working! Rain today so have the car in garage so I can put the dash back together.
  9. Yea, There are plenty of them around used. Gotta head to a yard in Rochester to get one. Then I can put the dash back together. The tech who traced it out tore the dash to pieces!
  10. Anybody have a spare CCC on the bench they wanna sell? Let me know............
  11. I need a CCC for a 93 Deville. 89-93 will work. None in local yards.
  12. Success! Replacing the Body Control Module didnt work. Manual states that orange/black stripe wire from BCM to the Climate CC and Fuel FDC should have 16 V at the FDC. Wire showed less than 5V at the FDC. Should of read 16v as the manual states. Unplug both CCC and FDC and the wire shows 16v again. Plug IN the FDC and the orange black stripe wire shows 16v. NOW plug in the CCC and both guages go dark and the wire shows 5v again. Well I guess the FDC unit has failed again! AGAIN: The $10 bucks I spent on the GM service manual was worth it! So I gotta look for another FDC controller! I DID install the $75 reman BCM cuz I cant return it.
  13. Back home and recd. the reman BCM. Swapped the chip. Plugged into car............ NO fuel or climate controls still! Gotta run the flo chart from serv. manual. \Any ideas?
  14. Still in Fla. after my awful trip in the girls POS Omni ! Having a complaining passenger and no cruise control sure sucked! Sure miss my smoooth ridin' Caddy on long trips! My buds back home rescued my new BCM from laying in the front yard where Fed X left it! Good thing I live in da country! Gettin on the plane Monday for home. Then I can install my new BCM.
  15. I am heading to Tampa tomorrow and got a couple Allantes lined up to look at! Dirt cheap cold a/c 4.5 or 4.9s too! $2500 bucks
  16. Pull the FPR vac. hose after running. If wet with fuel its bad. DO NOT remove hose with car running!
  17. Slips and vibrates when driving? Fluid full? Fluid bright pink or dark and burnt smelling? If so.....RUN away! Tranny rebuilds on these can be $pendy.
  18. No new Devilles in the parts yards. Dam...........I should of scored the front door panels off the 2 that were at my local yard last month! They went off to the crusher. Ordered my re-man BCM from Rock Auto for $83. Waiting for delivery..............
  19. Yea..........I guess rollin the dice on a almost 30 yo. electronic part is dicey but for $11 bucks! Gonna check the yards again cuz maybe they have some new victims.
  20. Around 210 is normal operation temp. Was the coolant you bought premixed or 50/50? It will be posted on the label............ If so no need to drain any out. Even if it WASNT pre-mixed it will be fine also because it will be diluted by the existing antifreeze/coolant in the car. Your car should be Dex-cool anyway. Dex-cool should be pre-diluted anyhoo................
  21. Well NO Dice on a used BCM at my local yards! One yard had a 91 but I sure couldnt find it! I didnt leave empty handed tho cuz I scored a Washer bottle/pump assem. for my s-10 for $13 bucks. I guess its Rock auto for a reman for $80................
  22. DAM! Think my $11 pic a part BCM has failed again! Fuel and climate displays are dark and no HVAC operation. I still have my old BCM and even tho the displays are dark the functions still work. So gonna pull the glovebox and plug in the old BCM and see if HVAC functions work and if so its off to the local PIP yard for another $11 BCM ! Maybe I should of bought the $75 reman BCM back then? The local PIC yard has 4 baby lacs so another BCM wont be hard to get. Its been 90+ daily here near Syracuse so need that cold breeze when ridin' dirty! My s-10 still has cold a/c so Im riding cool............ No fun drivin' her Neon car...........
  23. Not a clue why it runs. BUT my climate and gas guages went dark yesterday! BCM died? I thought I smelled something electrical burning. Gotta pull the glovebox and plug in my old BCM to check that this new old replacement has failed. (the old BCM the climate functions work but no guage display)
