i believe that the mirror is not properly adjusted so this is the cause of the problem or there is something wrong with the memory that controls the mirror. is this fixed?

there are lots of things you can do. you make sure the oxygen sensors, engine emissions system, and evaporative emissions control systems are in good shape and well conditioned. always plan your trip and lighten your load.
