  1. The decorative plastic panel on the lower portion of a rear door came off and was damaged beyond repair. For the moment, it's re-attached with screws (drilled through the door metal). Today I'll look in the junkyards, but still have not figured out how to get one OFF of a donor car and ON to mine. There is a row of little metal studs welded to the metal door, and to each of them is attached a plastic clip that is supposed to snap into a matching "rail" in the plastic panel. But I cannot figure out how to remove/replace that panel. Is anyone parting out a (preferably white) 87-90 DeVille? And the dealer does not have those clips any longer... is there another source? (I don't see a way to post a photo with this...?)
  2. This low-mileage '90 DeVille is a great car, but the driver seat is too low for me even with every combination of tilt and raise. I would like to safely raise the entire seat assembly by about two inches. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Blower motor on 96 eldorado

    Exactly. The blower is connected to the 12V source via a small module (two packs of cigarettes) that extends down into the air stream for cooling purposes. That module sets the speed of the blower and reacts to input from the climate control system and the body computer. On my car it's not a resistor, but a big power transistor. In most Caddys it's held in place by three screws and has two connectors. The blower motor can fail in different ways, but one failure will fry that module. If you pull one of those connectors, the blower will stop. If you replace the module, you'll be back in control (assuming the blower motor is ok and doesn't fry the replacement module). They're on eBay at various prices. Look for Dan Isabell in NY - he's a reliable Caddy parts dude. You can also pull the module and inspect. In some, the power transistor is sealed in an epoxy housing. In others it's exposed. If you can see the power transistor (looks like a very thick nickel with tabs screwed to the big aluminum heat sink), it's replaceable if you can find one with similar characteristics.
