The Northstar System

Was just watching a re-run of Seinfeld on TV and Jerry is having a discussion with his elderly parents about them selling a Cadillac he recently bought them.

He said, "but what about the Northstar system??"

His dad replied, "I don't even think we use it!!"

I thought it was pretty funny. Also interesting to note (for you Seinfeld fans), that the car Jerry actually bought his parents was a mid-'90s Fleetwood, which had the LT-1 engine rather than a Northstar!

Used my northstar (95 etc).

No engine cooling fans, in summer city driving, due to my moving fuses around to diagnose an hvac fan failure (the typical one). My fault that the engine fan fuse was not put back in the right place, but northstar took care of me and family as the temp increased to >250 before displaying a way too hot message. Well the limp home mode took over, I was able to get to a highway on 4 cyl's, and after driving a short distance, air cooled it down enough and all 8 cyl's kicked back in like nothing happen'd. That was 2.5 yrs ago.

There have been no problems associated with that event.

Well, actually I had a flat tire within 10 miles of that .... guess what ... the temp spare only lasted about another 10 (
