  3. Fuel test completed. Fuel pump was a little lazy, but not out. A bottle of sea foam with a full tank of Shell 93 octane. Let it sit for a few days and it seems it cleaned out the fuel pump and injectors. Running smooth for the past couple of days.
  4. @Jesse B Switch the relay with one of the other relays of the same kind. Does everything operate normally? Did the noise stop? If you still have a noise I would suspect an A/C programmer and/or a temperature blend door actuator as @rockfangd suggested. Check ALL the fuses!! Something caused the wire to burn, a short to ground is the most common. Trace the wiring issue to it's source.
  5. Hi all. I recently purchased a 2008 STS-V It has a some aftermarket stuff on it and from what I can tell it might be car that a member here owned. I am trying figure out all what it has for mods. So far I know it has a corsa exhaust, and spectre air intake. It appears to have an aftermarket intercooler behind the grill and it has a silver tank behind the grill. Which appears to be a intercooler fluid extra capacity tank. Not really sure what else. But I was googling that tank and thing and I found an similar install on this site. Anyway i am new to Cadillac performance and stuff but not new to performance or cars. A couple cars in my stable include a 76 c10 pickup and 67 chevelle, and a 60 Studebaker lark wagon, just it name a few of my favorites. Anyway here is the new ride.
  6. The noise was coming from under the dash. I took it to a mechanic he found a wire that was melted. It was going to the high pressure ac sensor we replaced the pig tail and tried 3 different sensors 1 from Cadillac it’s still not working. All of the actuators are working there’s a good charge in the system. We jumped the relay and the compressor started ac got cold so we assumed it was the high pressure switch.
  7. No no no.... Missunderstanding. Guess it´s my bad. No problem with the pump. I ment that the window unit is of "single lift arm" type. (It´s like a half sissor). No tape on the Eldorado!!!!
  8. OK so I have a 1989 cadillac deville 4.5l v8 transverse motor. The belt was bad when I bought the car a week ago and the top of the belt shows that the belt was sticking. I relaxed the belt and when I got to work right when I got the the new belt was split down the middle. I replaced with my old belt I had in the trunk and dressed the belt. I started it up and when looking at it I found that the ac clutch was not spinning. It would spin and stop spin and then stop then not spin at all. I drove it home. When I got there I had my friend look at it and found it wasn't spinning again so I started it and turned on the ac and saw sparks and the belt chipping away and it the belt would spin and then not spin at all. I don't know what to do and I don't have money for a new compressor unit. The clutch is about half the price and the coil is like $25. What should I do? I need help bad. I think the sticking on the top not grooved side of the belt is from the belt spinning and the the ac pulley not rotating and causing it to stick to the tensioner. I think it all has to do with the pulley thing.....

  10. Heres a used rear air pump sensor unit:|Make%3ACadillac&hash=item41953ba322:g:R20AAOSwPcVV2~z-:sc:USPSPriority!13074-2109!US!-1
  11. Goran......Window track broke also? Yes you have to buy a new window motor with the plastic track. Less than $100US here. As far a the arm on your rear level. I also have the manual but never really looked at that arm that activated the air pump. Is yours bent or broken? Is there power to the pump?
  12. Hmmm........No more FB posts on this broken line cross post to see if this guy fixed this vapor line.

  14. 1961 Cadillac DeVille 4 Window On Ebay
  15. Been scaning the web for info but still a little bit confused. Is this the "tape" version or not??? If it is I guess the tape is broken and needs to be replaced. Need to know before I open it to order parts in advance. Found out from the repair manual. Single lift arm design. Unfortunatly poor figures in the manual. What could possebly go wrong here???
  16. Thanks for the update. Good luck with it.
  17. As it turns out, it's covered by the bumper to bumper warranty which is still in force. The dealer ordered it from Cadillac, but, with the strike in force, they have no idea when it might show up. Thanks!

  19. Hello. Welcome To Caddyinfo Forum. IS the noise from inside or outside of the car? Inside I would say a bad actuator. Outside I would be looking at the compressor clutch. If clutch was going bad it would not throw any codes as the refrigerant may not have leaked out.
  20. Ac has always worked great but it has been making a weird noise from under dash on passenger side on and off for a few days almost like a grinding noise. Today it will only blow hot air I put a code reader on it no codes. Refrigerant should be good. I’m going to check to see if the compressor is coming on after this post. Any help would be appreciated.

  23. New alternator in. Noice gone!😎 But… One down and new one shows its uggly face.😕 Tested the windows. Driver side worked just fine, passenger side came down about 2 inch and then… WHAM!!! It fell all the way to the bottom. Wtf happened? Guess I´ll have to open up the door all the way but don´t know what to expect???? BTW, I´ve got "service code 37" and "restraint 37" in DIC. Can not find this in the service manual. Anyone?

  25. It sure does Bruce. Cut out the catalytic converter today and the car is running worse after a test drive. I'll have to do a compression test and a fuel pressure test next. Plus get a new muffler installed. the joys of owning an older vehicle. Keep you posted.
  26. Yup. Go go right to the canister if need be. If the nipple breaks off the canister then a new canister is needed.
  27. Roc.....The guy sez the hose is brittle. .I suggested working from the canister back to a good not brittle place on the plastic line. Warming the end with a heat gun and inserting a braSS union and going rubber hose to the canister. He says it carries no fuel. He hasnt came here as I suggested and no more posts on the FB Cadillac Style group from him. Looks like a easy cobb fix too!

  29. Oh good you got it fixed; thanks for posting what worked. The part where you blew up the muffler sounds like it needs a longer story.
